Deborah Miles-Johnson
Deborah is a professional choral director and mezzo-soprano. She was a member of the BBC Singers for many years and has sung with The Sixteen and the Tallis Scholars; she appeared regularly in the Extra Chorus at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Her varied career encompasses a thriving teaching practice and performing on the soundtracks of many major films. She created Gloriana in 2016, handpicking singers from London and the South-East.
Since 2006, Deborah has drawn on her extensive choral expertise to present a series of creative workshops. Together with professional colleague Neil MacKenzie, she leads a vibrant and developing series of sessions specifically designed to enhance the technical fitness of all choral amateurs. The Holiday Choir workshops provide a stimulating workout for singers to enjoy in the regular breaks between their choirs’ concert schedules.
